Causes of Head and Neck Pain

Head and neck pain is a very common complaint that affects many people. Stress, poor posture, sitting at a computer for long periods, weakness in the shoulders and a host of other factors can cause you to feel pain in the neck.

Generally, the source of pain is in the spinal joints, discs, vertebrae or soft tissues. The surrounding muscles and ligaments may become inflamed and irritated, causing most people to experience pain primarily in the mid and lower neck. However, the pain may spread to the shoulders and up into the head.

Headaches and even migraines are a common problem from tightness in the neck. You may notice problems such as turning your head to drive, aching pain at the end of the day or with prolonged sitting and even pains into your shoulders or arms.

Knowing the right course of treatment will reduce your neck pain. That is why at Comber Physical Therapy and Fusion Chiropractic we can help you on the road toward a new future without neck pain and get you feeling back to your normal self again.
