Cheryl Jones, DPT
Dr. Cheryl Jones is a Doctor of Physical Therapy serving in the New Town location. Her special areas of interest include women’s health and dry needling. Dr. Jones obtained her Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy from the Medical College of Virginia, and she earned her Doctor of Physical Therapy from College of St. Scholastica. Dr. Jones also holds certifications in NDT for CVA, as well as Dry Needling. She also specializes in men’s pelvic health issues including incontinence, pelvic pain and post-prostatectomy.
When asked why she chose her specialty, Dr. Jones replies, “I was looking for more answers to solve my patients’ problems. This led me to manual therapy coursework, then further into women’s health coursework. Both have been very beneficial in treating the issues of the whole patient. In addition, dry needling has added an effective intervention to further address the needs of my pelvic pain, chronic pain and orthopedic patients.”
Dr. Jones thrives on meeting the challenges of her patients. She aims to look at the whole clinical picture of a patient’s health, as many disorders are multifaceted. Patients may require more than just one approach, therefore Dr. Jones explores new techniques and ideas that may benefit her patients.
Outside the office, Dr. Cheryl Jones enjoys spending time with her wonderful husband and two energetic and adventurous children. They enjoy boating, fishing and the beach.
